What is an osprey bird

An osprey bird is a large bird of prey that is found around the world, typically near bodies of water. It is also known as a fish hawk, sea hawk, or river hawk because of its unique hunting behavior of diving into the water to catch fish with its talons.

Ospreys are typically around 2 feet (60 cm) in length, with a wingspan of around 5 to 6 feet (1.5 to 1.8 meters). They have brown and white plumage, with a distinctive black eye mask and hooked beak. Ospreys are powerful hunters and can dive up to 100 feet (30 meters) into the water to catch fish.

These birds are migratory and travel long distances between their breeding and wintering grounds. They typically nest near water on platforms built of sticks and twigs. Ospreys are a protected species in many parts of the world due to habitat loss and other threats to their population.
